Shading System Data We Can All Learn From

Most bedrooms in the city need one type or other treatments for their windows.  A good shading system would provide privacy in the night and block out early morning sun from disturbing your sleep. The treatments which are generally used to cover windows contribute to the style of a room. Different styles and many materials offer an endless range of colours and patterns for this window treatment.

Shading System
The common treatments that are found across homes are shades and blinds. Shades are solid length fabrics that can be pulled up and down with a cord or lifting mechanism. Shade blinds in Melbourne are rigid coverings with slats that rotate open or closed to let in (or block out) light.

The common shades that are used in homes especially for bedrooms are:

  • Roller shades: These are the simplest type of shades that are used on windows. These shades fix inside the window casement and can be operated with pulley type of systems. The expensive models have lift mechanism without a cord.

  • Tie-up shades: This type of shade which is known as stage-coach style has a fabric hanging from a rod or mounting board. The fabric of the shade is lifted with hand and tied with attached ribbons or ties.

  • Roman shades: Roman shades hang down flat when they are closed but pull up into deep and horizontal pleats when lifted with attached cords.  These shades are generally made up of heavy fabric.

  • Balloon shades: Balloon shades have cords running through rings on the back. When pulled open, the fabric gathers in to cascades, giving it an old fashioned appearance.

Depending up on your taste, budget and appearance of the room, you can choose the best shading system for your bedroom.
