3 Essential Factors To Consider Before Buying A Custom Shade Sail

Patio shade sails are a great and easy way to build an exceptional look for the backyard. A good custom shade sail primarily provides shade to you and your house from harsh sun. The shade material needs to be breathable but water resistant that is also strong enough to last under most weather conditions.

It is always suggested to have a custom shade sail because the precut sails are not according to correct measurements of the backyard or the area where you want to fix shades. The commonly available shades which are available in the market are either too big or too small for the desired area. The factors that are to be considered before finalizing the shade sail are

  • Tracking the sun: Sun moves from east to west, so the shade region also keeps on changing during the day. It is better to know the exact time of the use of shade. So that it will be easy to know the area and cloth required for shade that need to be fixed.
  • Measuring the area: Shade sails anchor at the corners to anchor points and stretched that mean that they provide typically 10% less than the corners. This means that some areas under the shade will not be in shade. So while getting the sail custom made you need to get a bigger piece of shade to cover certain area.
  • Anchor points: Shade sails need to be placed close to a strong tree, a steel or wooden post or a house wall so that the anchor points can be fixed on them and sail can be stretched to fix them on to these points. A thick wire or chain can be used if the anchor points are a bit far away from the sail.

These three factors play a major role while selecting the sail dimensions.
